Community engagement
Community engagement is about sharing information, gathering views and opinion, developing options, building consensus and making decisions.
The City is currently engaged in a review of its community consultation processes, and will advise and update all information once the review is complete.
Current community consultation
Current projects and their supporting documentation, such as plans, designs, workshops, and draft policies, will be available for comment. Documents may also be obtained from our service and information centre, City of Fremantle, Town Hall Centre, 8 William Street, Fremantle.
Draft Local Planning Policy 3.14 – Wray Avenue precinct - Closes 30/05/2012
An initiative of the local community in the Wray Avenue precinct, the objective of this policy is to provide development control and design guidance to ensure new development or redevelopment within the Wray Avenue precinct is compatible with the distinctive character and heritage significance of the precinct.
Proposed scheme amendment no. 51 – Rezoning of 8, 12, 14, 16 and 18 James Street, Fremantle - Closes 27/06/2012
The City of Fremantle proposes an amendment to its Local Planning Scheme no. 4 map and text to:
Rezone numbers 8, 12, 14, 16 and 18 James Street, Fremantle, from ‘residential’ zone to the ‘mixed use’ zone; and include into schedule 12: Local planning area 2 – Fremantle – Specific development controls for sub areas, a new sub area and provisions related to the subject properties on James Street, Fremantle.
How to comment
Community comment is welcome on current projects. A submission form will be included in the project documentation for you to submit via email or to our service and information centre, City of Fremantle, Town Hall Centre, 8 William Street, Fremantle.
Once the community consultation process has closed, submissions will be compiled and analysed by the relevant officer. Late submissions cannot be included in the analysis.
