Community Safety Working Group
The challenge for the City of Fremantle is to respond to both the real threats to safety and security and to the perceived threats felt by our community. Whilst crime statistics indicate that crime rates per head of population are falling in most areas, many residents still fear becoming a victim of crime.The role of this working group is to consider the variety of ways in which local government authorities address this issue, and assess what may be effective in the Fremantle environment.
Membership
Membership of the working group includes:
- two elected members
- CEO representative
- representative from Western Australian police
- representative from the licensed premises industry
- representative from the business community
- two representatives from the community.
