West End Working Group

The City of Fremantle is seeking an appointment of one additional community representative to serve on the West End Working Group (WEWG). Such representative should have demonstrated interest, knowledge and/or expertise in place activation and heritage of the West End of Fremantle.

The West End Working Group role is to assist the Council with the planned nomination of the West End Conservation Area for enlisting on the State Heritage Register by considering and working through the following tasks:                                                                                      

• Preparation of a West End Conservation Area Management Plan to facilitate the listing of the West End on the Stage Heritage List, and
• Integration of the Local Identity Codes within the statutory planning instruments for the West End Conservation Area.

Membership

Membership of the working group includes:

• Chief Executive Officer or his nominated representative;
• Two Elected members (in addition to Mayor); 
• One representative of the Fremantle Society;
• One representative of the Chamber of Commerce;
• One representative of the Fremantle Ports;
• One representative of a business operating in the West End; 
• One representative of Notre Dame University, Fremantle;
• Three community representatives with interest, knowledge or experience in place activation and/or heritage of the West End of Fremantle.
