Fremantle sewer refurbishment

The Water Corporation is completing construction and maintenance works on the Fremantle Main Sewer line, with works expected to be complete in mid July 2012.
The Water Corporation is planning these works in two stages, the first will be on St. Peters Road in the Town of East Fremantle and the second will be along Canning Highway to Ellen Street in the City of Fremantle.
This work is being done as part of the Water Corporation’s sewer refurbishment program. The refurbishment work will extend the life of this vital piece of infrastructure.
The structural integrity of the Fremantle main sewer line has deteriorated since construction approximately one hundred years ago. The main sewer line is being refurbished to reduce the possibility of collapse and spills occurring and therefore looking after environmental and social well being for the future.
