South Street / Mccombe Street - Installation of traffic signals

Traffic signals are to be installed in conjunction with Main Roads WA - this is a national blackspot project and is scheduled for completion by the late July / early August 2012. Road works to South Street, McCombe Avenue and Plane Tree Grove will also be included as part of the works.

Road works are nearing completion including the installation of 'seagull islands' at McCombe Avenue and Plane Tree Grove. Plane Tree Grove has now been reinstated to 'left and right' out following a period of 'left out only' whilst works were underway. Kerbing and paving will occur commencing Monday 30 July 2012 to finish off this part of the works.
This project is now approximately 70% complete. Traffic signal poles have been installed however are not yet commissioned as the power supply is to be installed by Western Power which should occur within 3 to 4 weeks time.

Roadworks have now been completed. To finalise the project, line marking and power connection will be undertaken by the end of next week. The traffic signals will be operational immediately after this.
