City of Fremantle hosts four festivals every year. Each festival is shaped by artists, community groups, schools, clubs and business. Your ideas and events are crucial in developing the festivals loved by locals and thousands of visitors to our city. Fremantle Street Arts Festival
Saturday 7 April to Monday 9 April 2012
Held in Easter this festival features astonishing physical feats and surprises throughout the streets of Fremantle. Showcasing some of the world’s best street artists it has achieved extremely high levels of public awareness, massive audiences and an ever increasing national and international profile. Heritage Festival
Friday 25 May to Monday 4 June 2012
Celebrates the unique history of Fremantle through architecture, tours, workshops and events. It includes a local history award for non fiction writers and heritage awards for architects and builders working on homes in the Fremantle area. Find out how you can be part of the Heritage Festival here.
Hidden Treasures–Winter Music Series

Hidden Treasures is Fremantle’s winter music series in July. Last year we turned unexplored venues in High Street into a live music hotspots to celebrate well established artists and explore new musical talent developing in Fremantle. Find out how you can be part of Hidden Treasures here.
Fremantle Festival
Sunday 28 October to Sunday 11 November 2012
Each November this eclectic festival celebrates arts and the community at their best. Last year over 100 community events were included in the festival as well our key events –Children’s Fiesta, Wardarnji, Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival and the Street Parade. We also provide two venues to the community The Fremantle Town Hall (capacity 500) and the Black Box theatre (capacity 50). Find out how you can be part of the Fremantle Festival here.
Schools–Festival Projects
Fremantle Schools are able to apply for funding to develop a project of their choice. Projects need to produce an outcome that can be included in one of the above festivals. Find out more and apply here.
