School age swim programs
Our school age program has been developed for children 5 years+, and teaches correct technique over short distances, including survival distance swimming and skills. The correct technique component of our teaching ensures that once your child has mastered the stroke, they can then swim over a distance with ease.
The following information provides details of each level:
This beginner level teaches water confidence and basic skills, in a safe and fun environment. (Maximum 4 students).
The foundations of swimming are taught, including freestyle arms clearing the water, a flutter kick and the initial breaststroke kick. (Maximum 4 students).
This level incorporates the initial teaching of freestyle breathing and backstroke arms. Breaststroke kick becomes propulsive. (Maximum 5 students).
The freestyle breathe and blow skill is extended to 10 m, backstroke to 5 m, and breaststroke kick is introduced on the front with an aid. (Maximum 5 students).
Freestyle and backstroke are developed over 15 m. Breaststroke arms are learnt separately, to ensure correct technique is acquired. (Maximum 6 students).
