 E-books from Overdrive

If you are a member of Fremantle City Library you can browse the collection of ebooks, check out with your library card, and download to PC, Mac®, and many mobile devices although this service is not presently available for Kindle devices in Australia.

With thousands of fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from, the new collection is guaranteed to have something for everyone. You can download novels, well-known classics, travel guides, biographies self-improvement guides, and much more.

This service, powered by OverDrive, is free with your library card. To start downloading eBooks and more, visit http://wapldmc.lib.overdrive.com .

How Overdrive works:

To get started, you will need to install free software. To read eBooks, you’ll need Adobe® Digital Editions. Titles can be enjoyed immediately or transferred to a variety of devices, including iPod®, Sony® Reader™, and many others. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period.

Magazines from Zinio

Zinio provides State Library and Public Libraries members with access to a range of eMagazines delivered right to their desktop or favourite mobile device.

How Zinio works:

Login with your library card when prompted and create an account at the WAPLDMC Zinio site. You'll be asked to create an account on the Zinio.com site in order to read them online or on an app.

 

 

Audiobooks from OneClickdigital

OneClickdigital is a digital download audiobook service with hundreds of popular titles to choose from for Fremantle City Library members. You can borrow up to ten (10) audiobooks at a time for three weeks, and place reserves on those that are currently on loan.

How OneClickDigital Works:

Create an account to download and keep track of your audiobooks.
Audiobooks are available as MP3 or WMA files
You can listen to a sample before downloading.
Works with both Macs and PCs.
Audiobooks can be listened with the OneClickdigital Media Manager, or transferred to an mp3 player.

Freegal music downloads

Freegal Music is a service which enables Fremantle City library members to download music from the Sony Music catalogue, which includes hundreds of thousands of tracks.

Llibrary members are entitled to download up to three (3) tracks per week for free. Music video downloads count as two (2) tracks out of the weekly quota. Music includes both Australian artists and international artists.

You will need a valid library membership number to access this service.

How Freegal Music Works:

  • Keep track of your downloads in the upper right corner of the site.
  • Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download.
  • Downloads are all in the MP3 format with no Digital Rights Management (DRM).
  • This service will work with any MP3 player, including iPod, and can be loaded into iTunes.  It works on both PCs and Macs.
  • Be sure to check out the browsing areas, located on the top menu bar, especially genres, most popular, and new releases.
