Author visit brings back Glorie days

Just like the character in her novel, West Australian author Marlish Glorie is choosing her destiny rather than following a pre-determined path.
Glorie will be baring her writing soul to the world at the Fremantle City Library next Friday, July 3, in an interactive workshop which coincides with her latest novel The bookshop on Jacaranda Street.
Audiences will gain a rare insight into the mind of a successful author as she reveals how to build a novel from: story concept, the creative process right through to publication.
Set in a second-hand bookstore, Glorie’s novel tells the story of a woman who attempts to run away from her past, but quickly realises the past cannot truly be erased as she fights for her future against some quirky characters.
Audiences will get an opportunity to speak directly to Glorie after her presentation in an interactive question-and-answer session.
Glorie’s appearance will be the first of many planned author workshops staged by the Fremantle City Library.
In August, controversial author and Vietnam veteran Don Tate will appear at the library to discuss his latest autobiographical book and show never-before-seen front-line footage from the battlefields of Vietnam. For more details, contact the Fremantle City Library.
Marlish Glorie’s two-hour workshop starts at 10am at the library which is located in the Town Hall building, 8 William St, Fremantle.
