Free Breakfast for those bitten by the cycling bug

The City’s environmental health manager Matt Piggot will  join hundreds of other cyclists for a free breakfast as part of  2009 Cycle Instead Bike Week  after only recently been bitten by the cycling bug, which he says has greatly improved his travel experience to and from work.

Cycling along the coast from Currumbine, 43kms away, with the fresh breeze against his face Matt now arrives at work buzzing with energy and a mental focus that he does not achieve commuting in a car.

Matt says “I love the workout I get riding my bike. It is a great way to exercise and I don’t feel like I am giving up a huge chunk of my spare time”

Matt will join a host of cycling enthusiasts, young and old, advanced and beginner for a free breakfast at the bike event, hosted by the City of Fremantle.

The free event runs between 7am and 8:30am on Thursday 26 March 2009 at the Fremantle Leisure Centre, Shuffrey St.

Cyclists will receive complimentary maintenance from sponsors Bike Force Fremantle, and a chance to win many prizes including a signed Fremantle Dockers Jumper.

Cycle Instead Bike Week is a week-long annual event promoting the health and travel benefits of cycling.
