Mental health

What is mental health?

Mental health is an expression that is frequently misunderstood.  ‘Mental health’ is often used as a substitute for mental health conditions – such as depression, anxiety conditions, schizophrenia and others.

According to the World Health Organisation, mental health is "a state of well-being in which every individual realises their potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to [their] community".

Staying mentally healthy

Keeping mentally healthy is just as important as staying physically healthy and now the City of Fremantle has partnered with the Mentally Healthy WA Act-Belong-Commit campaign it has never been easier.
