Hazardous household waste (HHW)

This type of waste includes batteries, paint, asbestos and chemicals.

Except for batteries, hazardous household waste (HHW) is NOT accepted at the community recycling centre located at the City Works Depot at the corner of Montreal Street and Knutsford Street, Fremantle.  It is open Saturday and Sunday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and is closed on all public holidays.

You can recycle your batteries at the Knutsford Street depot or drop them into our customer service centre, at the City of Fremantle, Town Hall Centre, 8 William Street, Fremantle.

Used motor oil can also be taken to the City of Fremantle City Works Depot on Knutsford Street, Fremantle between 8.00 am and 3.00 pm Monday to Friday and 8.00 am and 4.00 pm Saturday and Sunday and is closed on all public holidays.

This service is for residents only and unable to accept materials from commercial or industrial businesses.
