How do I find out my waste, recycling, bulk and whitegoods or green waste collection days?

Simply open our online mapping system (Intramaps) then put in your address. Your waste and recycling plus upcoming bulk and green waste collection details will be displayed.

My property has just been constructed, how do I get my bins?

Bins can not be delivered to vacant properties, so once the property is occupied, complete an application for waste and recycling bins and forward to the City.  Once the form and payment have been received, the waste management team will deliver the bins to your nominated address.

Can I have a bigger recycling bin?

If you would like to upgrade your 240 litre recycling bin for a 360 litre bin, you will need to fill in an application for upgrade to 360 litre recycling bin.  Fees apply.

What can the City provide for home composting?

The City of Fremantle sells compost bins and worm factories. Depending on the item you require, you will need to complete either an application for home compost bin or an application for worm factory.  Once the application form and payment is received by the City, the ordered item will be delivered to the nominated address within the City of Fremantle.

My recycling / rubbish bin was not emptied.

Timeframes for missed bins, delivery of replacement bins (stolen/damaged) is 3-5 days.

Does the City supply industrial / commercial bins?

Are schools entitled to receive recycling bins?

A private contractor supplies schools with recycling bins. Contact our waste management team on 08 9432 9999.

Where can I get a tip pass?

The City of Fremantle does not have a tip therefore cannot issue tip passes. The City of Cockburn tip site is available for anyone to use. Contact the City of Cockburn on 08 9411 3444 or visit the City of Cockburn website for more information.

I cannot get to the tip, where can I get rid of some large rubbish?

The City of Fremantle places bulk bins at the depot site in Knutsford Street, Fremantle four weekends per year. All dates are included on the waste management calendar sent to residents. Contact our waste management team on 08 9432 9999.

At the City of Fremantle Community Recycling Yard, at the corner of Wood Street and Knutsford Street, Fremantle.  The Recycling Yard is open every Saturday and Sunday from 8.00 am - 4.00 pm.

Where can I dispose of old printer cartridges and batteries?

The City of Fremantle has a free printer cartridge and battery recycling service which is located at the City's Service and Information Centre, 8 William Street, Fremantle which is open Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm and Saturdays from 9.00 am - 12.00 pm.

Where can I dispose of books, clothing, furniture, shoes and other reusable items?

Where can I dispose of old medicines?

Many pharmacies will collect old medicines and dispose of them safely.

Where can I dispose of needles?

Place needles in a sealed sharps container and treat as Hazardous Household Waste (HHW).

Your mechanic or car service provider can advise of the right way to dispose of auto batteries and tyres.

Where can I dispose of compact florescent tubes (CFLs) and light bulbs?

A CFL/light bulb bin is located at the City of Fremantle Community Recycling Yard at the corner of Wood Street and Knutsford Street, Fremantle.  The Recycling Yard is open every Saturday and Sunday from 8.00 am–4.00 pm.
