Who do I talk to about dangerous trees on verges?

Who can I talk to about trees overhanging my property?
For all verge trees contact our horticultural field officer on 08 9432 9999. For trees on private property, contact your neighbour or refer to the Dividing Fences brochure produced by the Building Commission of Western Australia.
Can the City prune my verge/street tree?
The City of Fremantle has a tree planting and preservation policy that indicates that qualified city officers will routinely prune street and verge trees. Contact our horticultural field officer on 08 9432 9999, to request pruning.
Can I prune my street tree?
The City of Fremantle's tree planting and preservation policy states that the council is responsible for the pruning of all street trees. Qualified city officers will routinely prune street and verge trees. Contact our horticultural field officer on 08 9432 9999.
Who do I speak to about removal of trees on a verge?
The City of Fremantle has strict guidelines for considering the removal of trees. If there is a tree that you would like considered removed, you will need to make a submission in writing to the parks and landscape coordinator, City of Fremantle, PO Box 807, Fremantle 6959 or email info@fremantle.wa.gov.au
Can I have a tree planted on my verge?
The City of Fremantle takes requests for the annual tree planting program. Advertisements are placed in the local newspaper in March each year that call for submissions. Contact our horticultural field officer on 08 9432 9999.
Will the City mow my verge?
The mowing of residential verges has ceased within the City of Fremantle, with the exception of arterial road verges which will continue to be scheduled for maintenance 5 times a year. The City offers a range of support options to ensure residents are able to manage their verges, including verge beautification information booklets and plant subsidies. Residents who are frail aged or have a disability may be eligible for mowing of their verges at a subsidised rate of $44 per visit inclusive of GST.
For unkempt verges, the City will engage not for profit organisations participating in the state ‘return to work’ programs. Should this occur, the ordinary rate for mowing an unkempt verge is $88 per visit inclusive of GST. For further information, contact our city works team on 08 9432 9666.

Can I have mulch for my verge?
The City of Fremantle has limited supplies of mulch for City of Fremantle residents. Please lodge your request with the horticultural field officer on 08 9432 9999.
Who do I speak to about maintenance of parks and gardens?

Who do I speak to about sprinklers being left on?
If you notice sprinklers have been left on in any of the City's parks or reserves, contact our city works team on 08 9432 9666.
Sprinklers being excessively used on private properties should be reported to the Water Corporation's Waterwise Helpline on 13 10 39 or the Water Corporation website.
