Jenny Archibald first served on council from 1990 to 1994 and was elected as mayor from 1994 to 1997. Cr Archibald was re-elected to council in 2017 as its East Ward representative.
Jenny has been an East Ward councillor (1990 to 1994) and Mayor (1994 to 1997).
Jenny has a BsC in Geology. Her professional career included work at the WA Museum and petroleum exploration industry, and later in business development and management as co-founder and executive of companies in geoscience technology, services, and geothermal exploration.
Following decommissioning of the Fremantle Prison in 1991, she was also Chair of the Fremantle Prison Trust.
Jenny is currently a board member of the State Library of WA and has also held various roles including Chair of the Rottnest Island Authority, Chair of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Deputy Chair (and briefly Acting CEO) of Fremantle Press and Chair of the UWA Geoscience Foundation.
Jenny loves how much people care about Fremantle and all the voices wanting to protect it, even if they don't all agree.
