The Meeting Place brings the community together through a range of unique courses, workshops, events, and talks.
Come in and talk to our friendly staff, have a coffee in our kitchen, browse our community notice boards, and share your passions, skills, and interests.
Australia Day public holiday
The Meeting Place will be closed on Mon 27 Jan 2025 for the Australia Day observed public holiday. We thank you for your understanding. We will reopen as normal on Tue 28 Jan 2025.
What's on at The Meeting Place?
The Meeting Place has joined forces with the wider City of Fremantle community to bring you a new program. What's On is packed full of fun and exciting courses, workshops, and talks at various locations throughout the City. City of Fremantle residents will have Fre-oh! delivered straight to your letterbox. Otherwise, the program can be viewed online or download it here. Enrolments are open for the Summer 2024/25 term.
If you want to know more about how to run your own course, workshop or group as part of The Meeting Place program, please fill out the Program Proposal Form or Volunteer Social Group Proposal Form. We will be in touch once the form has been received.

Room hire
The Meeting Place offers comfortable, affordable rooms for hire, ideal for community and local interest groups. Rooms are available for workshops, meetings, courses or seminars.
Room hire bookings and availability can now be viewed online. Projector available for an additional charge.
Parlour: Medium multi-purpose room with table and chairs and a white-board attached to one wall. Maximum: 12 people
Community hire: $17.90/hour Commercial hire: $42.40/hour
Sunroom: Medium multi-purpose room with table and chairs and a white-board attached to one wall. Maximum: 12 people

Meeting room: Large multi-purpose room with chairs and trestle tables available. Includes access to outside area. Maximum: 40 people
Community hire: $26.10/hour Commercial hire: $48.50/hour
The Nook: Small, cosy lounge perfect for casual conversation groups. Furniture includes a 3-seater sofa and 4 arm chairs. Maximum 8 people
Community hire: $17.90/hour Commercial hire: $42.40/hour

Parking: There is street parking on all surrounding roads and limited off-street parking on Jenkin Street. Please check the signs for time restrictions.
ACROD parking: 1 spot on Jenkin Street beside the Meeting Place and 1 spot beside the Copper Chimney restaurant on Jenkin Street across the road from the centre.
