(10/10/2017) Freo rated Perth's favourite entertainment precinct

Fremantle has been rated Perth’s most popular entertainment precinct in new research commissioned by Tourism WA.

In a survey of people living in metropolitan Perth and regional areas of WA, Fremantle scored the highest overall rating and was named as the most enjoyable place in Perth to visit.

Fremantle was also the most visited entertainment precinct outside of the Perth CBD.

Survey respondents said they liked Fremantle’s range of venues and activities and thought Fremantle was vibrant and lively and had good access to public transport.

The top reasons given for visiting Fremantle were to have a meal, grab a coffee and go shopping.

Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt said he was thrilled with the results.

“I’m particularly pleased that Fremantle was popular across all age groups, from young adults to families and over 55s,” Mayor Pettitt said.

“We’ve worked hard to make Freo a more attractive, vibrant and welcoming place, while also trying to retain our unique charm and character.

“I’m confident the revitalisation projects that are just getting underway now, like the Kings Square redevelopment, will make Freo an even more popular place to visit in the years to come.”
