(4/12/2017) Freo's Parking Santa is back in town!

Santa Claus is back in Fremantle - spreading Christmas cheer and randomly paying for shoppers’ parking.

The big guy in the red suit and his helpers will be roaming the streets of Fremantle, visiting carparks and businesses, paying for shoppers’ parking and handing out lollies to the kids.

He will be in Fremantle enjoying the sunshine throughout December before reluctantly returning to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

If you see Santa and his elf grab a selfie and post it on your social media pages with the hashtag #freeparkingsanta.

Visitors to Fremantle this festive season could also have their Christmas wishes could come true by winning their ultimate #freowishlist.

All they need to do is snap a photo of what they’d like from Santa this Christmas while shopping in their favourite Freo store, share the picture on Instagram and tag @fremantlestory, #freowishlist and the shop name.

Two prizes will be drawn every Friday until 22 December, with the winners receiving the product they photographed up to the value of $500. If their Christmas wish is worth less than $500 they can choose more items from any Fremantle shops to make up the difference.

The City of Fremantle is also running a Christmas window competition, where people can vote for their favourite shop window display and win a $100 hamper from Oxfam.

For a small donation to Oxfam, Santa’s pop up workshop on Queen Street offers beautiful gift wrapping for any gifts purchased in Fremantle, and actual real Christmas trees are available in Kings Square from midday to 4pm every Friday in December.

The City of Fremantle’s Candlelight Carols will be held at South Beach on Sunday 17 December, starting at 5.00 pm.
