What's on in Freo this school holidays!

The school holidays are fast approaching and the City of Fremantle have got a jam packed list of activities on offer!

ADVENTURELAND

11AM–3.30PM | 3–9 Oct | Walyalup Koort | FREE

To kick things off, Adventureland has arrived in Freo, providing adventurous fun from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 October down in Walyalup Koort.

It's the talk of the town this school holidays!

Kids will be able to venture through numerous activities, from scaling giant climbing walls, jumping on pirate ships, bounce in a magical castle, tackle huge slides, or make their way through energetic obstacle courses.

That's not all though, the real adventure begins with a treasure trail map, taking you through Fremantle to unlock a bounty of 8 free rides across four vibrant locations, then crack the code for your chance to win great prizes!

This is a free ticketed event and bookings are essential.

ENCHANTED PLAYGROUND

3–9 Oct | Walyalup Koort | Free

The heart of Fremantle will transform into a 'Enchanted Playground' with music, buskers, pirates, giant outdoor games, glittery face painting and more free pirate and adventure theme fun PLUS A crafts, activities and workshops.

The best part is they're all FREE!

Choose from:

Roving pirate and Ocean magic

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu | 12–2pm

Immerse in the adventure theme and watch Ladybird entertainment pirates rove around Walyalup Koort with their boats and do some interactive bubbles.

Traditional face painting and sparkles

Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu | 12–2pm

It's a classic kid's favourite and what better way to get into character with a bit of face paint!

A sparkle technician will be there offering plenty of tattoo designs for kids to choose from.

Nature Play

Thu | 11am–3pm

An interactive nature play stall facilitated by Cath, an Occupational Therapist.

She'll be there to provide information to parents and engage with kids using nature play activities.

Buds n Bloom

Mon | 10.30am–12pm and 1–2.30pm

 There will be two workshops facilitated by coordinators including assorted crafts, nature style creations and potting basil seedlings to take home (limited supplies).

 If you can't make these dates, not to worry!

 The local Hilton Harvest Community Garden's Buds n Blooms facilitators will also be holding an event before this.

 It will be held down at Fremantle PCYC, 30 September at 10.30am–12pm.

Toy Library Marquee

Badge making | Mini Roller Coaster

Tue, Thu, Fri | 11am–3.30pm

If the kids want a change in pace from all the adventure, pop into the Toy Library Marquee for some arts and craft fun!

They'll be able to make some badges and also have a go on a mini ride on roller coaster.

Giant Toys

Daily | 11am–4pm

Another great hit with the younger kids are the large toys!

There will be Mega Gears, Giant Bricks and a Jumbo Connect 4.

Busker Shows

Fri | 12pm 

With over 30 years performing comedy circus, watch Scott Chocolate as he performs a mixture of music, circus and comedy fun!

Scott is an adept performer, musician, prestidigitator, artist and human.

NYOONGAR STORYTIME AND BOOMERANG DECORATING

12–1pm, Wed 28 Sep, Fri 30 Sep + Fri 7 Oct  | Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre | $10

Hear the dreamtime stories from Nyoongar Elder Betty Garlett in this special cultural storytelling session for kids.

You'll then have paints and textures to decorate your very own boomerang to take home.

BUSTER FUN DAY

10am–2pm, Wed 5 Oct | Fremantle Arts Centre | FREE

Join in on the free family fun at everyone’s favourite play program Buster!

There will be a heap of activities to keep the kids busy including crafts, face painting, nature play, a treasure hunt, Farmer Damian’s Mobile Farm, a magic show and much more.

ART CENTRE ACTIVITIES

27 Sep–7 Oct | Fremantle Arts Centre | Bookings essential

There are also plenty of holiday activities on offer at Fremantle's Arts Centre including quirky monster drawings, manga drawing, clay figures, block printing and journal making just to name a few.

BIKE MONTH COMMUNITY EVENT BATHERS BEACH

10am–2pm, Fri 7 Oct | Bathers Beach Reserve | FREE

 Join us for a community event at Bathers Beach Reserve to celebrate WA Bike Month.

 There will be plenty to see and do including learn to ride workshops for 3–5 year old's, bike maintenance checks and info sessions.
