Disability Awareness Week in Fremantle 2018

Did you know that International Day of People With Disability (IDoPWD) was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It is celebrated internationally on 3 December each year. In celebration of IDoPWD 2018 the City of Fremantle is proud to showcase a week of FREE disability awareness activities.


The City continue to support the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia - Perth branch with their 'Lets Go Surfing' events that take place four times per year at Leighton Beach, North Fremantle.  The first surfing for all event for the 2018/19 summer season is on Saturday 1 December from 9:00am to 1:00pm. At Fremantle Leisure Centre a FREE guided tour of all accessibility features will be held on Tuesday 4 December from 2:00pm to 3:00pm including a free swim followed by light refreshments. Bookings are essential via Eventbrite


Together with Fishability the City is jointly promoting FREE come n try fishing on Thursday 6 December from 10:00am to 12 noon at Fremantle Sailing Club. Bookings are also essential via Fishability
