Please contact the Public Art Coordinator on 08 9432 9555 to discuss your community initiated public art (CIPA) proposal before submission.

Proponents will need to complete every part of the application carefully and submit all relevant details and separate attachments; site and artwork specifications, artist’s brief, scale visuals and diagrams and relevant letters of support or evidence of consultation to the Public Art Coordinator. Proponents should read the City of Fremantle Public Art Policy.

Proponents may present proposals under development in person to the coordinator for comment and review. All CIPA applications will be considered by the coordinator and public art advisory group with expertise in visual and public art prior to recommendations being considered by the Chief Executive Officer.

Who is the artist?
The City can help you with this by providing a recommended selection process
Please attach a copy of the artist's or artist team's CVs and provide a minimum of 6 images of their previous public artwork accompanied by a list detailing artwork title, materials, location and budget. If there are a team of artists this must be provided for each artist. A lead artist should be nominated from the group.

The materials selected should be of the highest possible quality to ensure the artwork is easily maintained.
Once the artwork has been installed you will need to provide a maintenance manual documenting the artwork, detailing actual build drawings, materials and relevant supplier or fabricator costs. It will also include maintenance and cleaning guidelines.
