*** New Facilities - Available from Friday 20th October ***
As part of our commitment to delivering better core services to residents and ratepayers, the City of Fremantle is improving and expanding our waste and recycling services.
Junk Drop-Off Service
In addition to the City's bulk verge collection service, residents now have the option of dropping off their household junk up to four (4) times a year at the Recycling Centre located on Montreal Street, Fremantle.
Opening hours for the Recycling Centre are as follows and junk will be accepted during these hours.
|LOCATION:||Montreal Street, Fremantle|
What sort of junk won't be accepted?
Similar to our bulk verge collections, there are some items we won’t accept, such as:
- Sand, cement or concrete
- Plate glass or shower screens
- Food or domestic rubbish
- Tree stumps or palm logs
- Car bodies, tyres or vehicle parts
- Building rubble
- Hazardous waste (other than car batteries, oil, paint, light globes and gas bottles)
How much can I bring?
Each resident will be able to use this service up to four (4) times a year and can bring one (1) standard 6ft x 4ft trailer load per visit.
How do I use this service?
In October 2017, the City sent a letter to every resident launching this new initiative.
This letter must be retained by residents and shown to the Recycling Centre Staff upon entry, along with some proof of residency such as a Drivers Licence or utilities bill.
PLEASE NOTE: Staff will be unable to accept any junk items without this letter and proof of residency being produced at the Gate.
