The City of Fremantle will be undertaking road resurfacing works on South St, from Hampton Rd to Solomon St as part of this year’s infrastructure improvement program.

These works are expected to take place from 16 November to 15 December 2024, weather permitting. South St will be intermittently CLOSED for nightworks during this time. Delays are expected and residents are encouraged to avoid the area during the hours of works. Plans of the site and extent of the works are attached at the end for your information. A detailed program is outlined below. Please note that dates refer to the night of the works and will continue to 7am the following morning.

These works will be carried out subject to an approved Noise Management Plan to reduce the overall noise impacts on nearby residences to as low as reasonably possible. We are aware that some inconvenience may be caused by these activities. While we aim to minimise disruption as much as possible, it is inevitable that there will be some noise during this period. Every effort will be made to ensure that this is kept to a minimum.

Variable message boards will be deployed to notify road users prior to the date of closure.  Footpath and vehicle access may be closed off in and around South St during these works.

Please be advised that parking is not permitted on South St during the hours of works, to allow access to machinery and equipment. We kindly request that you relocate any vehicles on working nights.
