Alternative options

Donate or sell

Before placing good items on the verge for collection, consider either donating or on-selling them.

Visit Recycling Near You for a list of online marketplaces to sell or swap goods.

Or find your closest charity shop on Charitable Recycling Australia's interactive map.

Fremantle Recycling Centre

In addition to the annual bulk waste or green verge collection, residents can drop bulk items at the Fremantle Recycling Centre with proof of residency at the gate. Your passes are now digital, so staff will mark your entry off the app, no need for letters. One 6x4 trailer load of clean green waste including shrub and tree pruning (up to 1.5m in length and 30cm in diameter) will be accepted on each visit and proof of residence is required.

FOGO Bin

Households with the three-bin FOGO service are encouraged to use their weekly FOGO bin for regular disposal of smaller green waste including prunings, grass clippings and weeds.

Landfill

For items not able to be placed out for the verge collection or recycled at the Fremantle Recycling Centre, you may need to dispose of these items at a landfill facility. This landfill is not operated by the City of Fremantle, so fees may apply:

  • Henderson Waste Recovery Park, 920 Henderson Road Cockburn, City of Cockburn
