Waste education

Null

The City of Fremantle offers opportunities for the community and school groups to learn about waste-related topics including what to place in bins, what happens to waste, other services like Fremantle Containers for Change or learning a waste minimisation skill.

Recycling Roadshow

Pop-up information stand perfect for markets, school fetes, or any outdoor gatherings. Includes interactive games, posters and gives people the opportunity to discuss questions with City officers.

Incursions/Visits

A City Officer can tailor a presentation for your group or school. For example, how to use your bins in a retirement village meeting, for scouts or inside the classroom which includes a game.

Sessions typically run 45-60 minutes or 30 minutes for younger students (Prep – Yr 1).

Looking for something more exciting? The incursion can be accompanied by a waste truck to the school. Places are limited. Contact (below) for more details.

Workshops

Workshops give residents the opportunity to learn new skills to reduce waste or hear from waste experts.

Some examples of workshops included bike maintenance, low waste living on a budget, sustainable goal setting, and composting.

To be kept in the loop on these or other City workshops, please visit What’s On or the City’s Facebook page.

Visit processing facilities

If you have ever wanted to see how the contents of the FOGO or recycling bin are processed, free visits to the Canning Vale Centre. Several public visits are organised for City of Fremantle residents throughout the year (see What’s On).
