Youth grants
Youth grants support programs, projects and initiatives that encourage social civic participation and increase wellbeing, skills, empowerment and resilience of young people aged 12–25 who live, work or study in Fremantle.
Objectives
- To provide young people an opportunity to develop social connections and contribute to the broader community.
- To encourage young people to be more physically and mentally healthy.
- To develop resilience in young people and empower them to make quality decisions about their health and well-being.
- To provide activities that enable young people to explore their interests and participate in learning opportunities.
- The project takes into consideration the prominent demographics (CaLD, People with disability, high school students, university students, etc.) of the area where the project will take place and responds to them effectively in a meaningful way.
Community Grants
Community grants support programs and activities that address a specific need or provide a benefit to the Fremantle community.
Applications for community focused projects and initiatives that meet the following objective will be considered for funding:
- Identifies and addresses a need in the community.
- Builds capacity in the community for social inclusion and connectivity.
- Aligns with key strategic priority areas as outlined in the City’s focused Action Plans, including:

How to apply
Applications are submitted via the City's Smarty Grants portal.
Information sessions are provided, as well as one-on-one meetings, to help people prepare their proposals.
It is essential to contact the grant officer via grantfunding@fremantle.wa.gov.au prior to submitting a grant application.

Grant info sessions
The City of Fremantle will run information sessions, drop ins and an online grant writing workshop for the September grant round on the following dates:
