Date 17 December 2024 Category City news Topic Parks and public open spaces The City of Fremantle has installed shade sails over the playground at Griffiths Park in Hilton, just in time for the school holidays. Four brightly coloured shade sails will provide 174sqm of shaded protection for our youngest residents over the summer months. The posts were installed in mid-November and the sails were rigged in mid-December 2024. The Griffiths Park nature-play playground was officially opened in March 2023. It was given a new-look with financial contributions from the City of Fremantle and the federal government. Its design was shaped by the community and includes a climbing fort, slide, swings and a flying fox.
