Opportunities are also advertised via public notice on the Tender register page, in the West Australian newspaper and in e-newsletter Freo Weekly.

The City is committed to achieving value for money outcomes for its ratepayers. To achieve this, the City believes that open and effective competition is essential. All potential suppliers to the City will be given the same opportunities to compete for business.
All procurement activities are operated fairly and transparently, in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for the City and its suppliers.
The City of Fremantle is committed to securing goods and services that assist it achieve its sustainability goals. Sustainability will not only be assessed as environmentally friendly, but also include enhanced social outcomes, resource reuse and the health and safety of users.
All tenders (and quotations for goods or services over $50,000 ex GST) include assessment criteria weightings to assist the City achieve its sustainability objectives.

All tender and quotations received by the City are treated as ‘commercial-in-confidence’. Information received will only be used by those assessing responses and entering in to contract.
The City does not release confidential information or information considered to impact competition, unless required to do so by law.

All officers and employees of the City of Fremantle are required to observe the highest standards of ethics and integrity in undertaking purchasing activities and act in an honest and professional manner that supports the standing of the City.
The City has a range of policies and procedures in place to ensure legislative and best practice requirements are met. All the policies and procedures have been developed, to assist the City to comply with the Local Government Act 1995 and Local Government (Functions and General) Regulations 1996.
Internal procedures have been developed by the City, to assist and direct Officers, on the procurement of goods and services for the City and to meet the City’s obligations. These are administered and updated regularly by the Procurement Team.
