Work with us

The City of Fremantle is a vibrant and forward-thinking organisation where we believe in empowering our people to think outside the square and explore ideas that make a real difference in our community.

Working at the City

We care about the wellbeing of every team member, and are proud of our respectful, collaborative and fun work environment. Fremantle is a place your authentic self will always be welcome.

We believe it’s important that our values guide everything we do, from how we work to how we get things done. Here’s what we stand for:

 Collaboration

We are stronger and better working together.

Inclusive

We value and welcome everyone to a culture which is fulfilling and brings us a sense of enjoyment.

Integrity

By doing it right and doing it well, we are accountable and deliver on the trust placed in us.

Making a difference

We adapt, learn and grow through curious thinking and courageous action.

We want Fremantle to be a place where everyone feels at home and can thrive. By having a team that reflects the rich diversity of our community, we become more adaptable and creative, and we’re better able to support and connect with everyone around us.

We continuously work towards becoming a more inclusive and accessible workplace through our Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Management Plan, Access and Inclusion Plan and Reconciliation Action Plan. You can find these linked in the relevant documents section below.

We celebrate and recognise our employees through programs that highlight those who positively impact both our internal and external communities while demonstrating our core values of collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, and making a meaningful difference.

Additionally, we recognise employees who contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace at Freo.

To deepen our connection with Nyoongar culture, our recognition programs are structured around the six Nyoongar seasons and proudly feature Nyoongar names.
