Local government elections

The City of Fremantle Council elections are held every two years on the third Saturday in October. The Mayor and Councillors are elected for four-year terms.

The City’s four electoral wards are Central, Coastal, East and North. Each Councillors is elected by a ward. The mayor is elected by the combined electorate of all wards.

The next local government election will be held on Saturday 18 October 2025.

You must already be enrolled on the State Electoral Roll to be eligible to vote in local government elections.
