Electoral activities and signage

An election sign is a notice on public display which encourages a person to vote for a particular political candidate or gives information or instructions in a written or symbolic form for a candidate or party in the election, and that complies with the requirements of section 187 of the Electoral Act 1907 in regard to the authorisation of electoral signage.

Guidelines for Election Signs

All candidates are required to obtain the approval of the City to place or erect an election sign on Council property.

Information on what must be included in electoral advertising and publications can be found on the Election Rules | Western Australian Electoral Commission
