The City is proud to announce that the South Beach Public Facilities project has received double accolades at the 2026 Western Australian Architect Awards.

The project, led by the City’s Infrastructure team and designed by Bernard Seeber Architects, won two award categories: the Brian Kidd Enabling Architecture Prize and the Small Project Architecture Award.

The jury for the Australian Institute of Architects – WA Chapter noted “the project embeds inclusion by first principles. Defined by spatial generosity, clarity and material warmth, it combines architectural rigour with passive performance. Shaped by deep community consultation, it delivers genuinely inclusive, intuitive and dignified amenities that belong to everyone equally.”

The City wishes to thank Bernard Seeber Architects, builder ICS Australia and the community for realising a shared commitment to creating a public facility that is welcoming and accessible for all.
