As part of Fremantle Festival: 10 Nights in Port, the City of Fremantle is running a series of All Abilities Dance June workshops in the Fremantle Town Hall, ahead of a ‘Dance Party’ event in August.

This workshop celebrates the healing power of movement and music, with dances rooted in the traditions of Angola, Ghana, and South Africa. It’s open to everyone, just bring yourself and your energy and come join us in celebrating through rhythm and expression.

For ages 15+. Dance workshops will cater to a range of abilities, including seated or low-impact dance options.

Carers and families are invited to participate.

Facilitator bio:

My name is Mubanga, a Zambian-born dance artist now based in Perth. I’m the director of a dance studio and have spent over a decade facilitating African dance and cultural workshops. As a choreographer and storyteller, I specialise in a range of traditional and contemporary African dance forms, sharing the rich rhythms, movements, and stories of the continent through engaging and inclusive experiences.
