Add to calendar Celebrate our local natural environment with a fun, hands-on day out for the whole community. Set among the trees at Sir Frederick Samson Memorial Park, this free event invites people of all ages to explore, learn and enjoy the outdoors together. Festival highlights include a Welcome to Country and cultural walk with Trevor Walley, presentation from Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, children’s storytelling and drawing with local author and illustrator James Foley, forest bathing experiences and a range of hands-on environmental workshops. Live music will run throughout the afternoon, with families also able to enjoy a sausage sizzle hosted by the Fremantle Rotary Club. Community organisations including Friends of Samson Park, BirdLife Australia, the Wetlands Centre, the City of Fremantle Urban Forest team and other local sustainability groups will host information stalls and activities throughout the day.
