City of Fremantle
Coastal Charm
Getting around the City without a car has never been easier!
Why not give walking, cycling or public transport a try?
Bike riding is a healthy and eco-friendly means of transport.
Although Fremantle is built on a series of hills, the most interesting parts of the City – the CBD, the historic West End precinct, Fishing Boat Harbour, Swan River and the beaches of Leighton, Port and South Fremantle – are all reasonably level and easily accessible by bike.
Dedicated bicycle lanes throughout the city and shared cycle paths running north, south and along the river make it easy for cyclists to move around.
Here is a handy guide to cycle rules and safety from the Department of Transport.
The Fremantle Visitor Centre offers free bike hire to visitors so they can explore what the Port City has to offer. All major attractions and precincts easily accessible by bicycle, there are dedicated cycle lanes throughout the city centre & shared paths running north and south so you can experience more during your day.
Bikes are available from the Fremantle Visitor Centre.
