Swan River Crossing

The Swan River Crossings Project is one of the most complex and challenging projects undertaken by Main Roads WA, involving road, port, freight, river, walking, cycling, heritage and environmental considerations.

The Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close Sunday 1 February, 2026 to enable completion of major works, including removal of the existing bridge, installation of the new bridge deck and construction of the new road.

This is a long-term project and is ongoing. You can find out the latest project updates via the Main Roads WA project page linked below.
