Mental Health Week is a national celebration in October each year, which centres around World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

For nearly 60 years, WA Mental Health Week has been bringing communities together to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health and wellbeing.

Held from 4–11 October 2025, this year’s theme is Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces – a reminder that we all have the power to support our own mental wellbeing and uplift those around us.

We’re encouraging members of our community to support their mental wellbeing by:

  • Taking the Act Belong Commit Mental Wellbeing Quiz. It only takes 10 minutes and gives you personalised tips to boost your mental health.
  • Checking out what’s happening in Fremantle. The City and local groups provide so many great options for community connection, creativity and wellbeing. Have a look at our What’s On guide and find something you enjoy.
  • Asking for support. The WA Association for Mental Health have collated a comprehensive list of support services here.
