Date 22 May 2026 Category City news Topic Aboriginal engagement All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. We are proud to support National Reconciliation Week from 27 May to 3 June 2026 with the theme “All In”, inviting our community to come together in the spirit of learning, connection, and respect. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long. Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us. Throughout the week, the Fremantle Library and the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre will host a range of inclusive activities designed to inspire people of all ages to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, stories, and perspectives. From creative family programs to thoughtful reading experiences and community art, there are many ways to get involved. We warmly welcome families, children, and the wider Fremantle community to take part. The Walyalup Reconciliation Action Plan (WRAP) 2024-2027 can be viewed on our Reconciliation page.
