The History Centre exhibition area at Walyalup Civic Centre will be temporarily closed from Friday 19 July to Thursday 15 August while we upgrade the space.

What’s happening
We’re replacing the wooden partition behind the display area with a new glass wall featuring historic images, similar to those seen on the outside of the building. This improvement will enhance the space and showcase even more of Fremantle’s rich history.

Access during works

  • The exhibition area will be closed, however History Centre staff are still available in the library to assist with research enquiries.
  • We encourage you to continue using the Fremantle History Centre website for research and image browsing.

Noise and disruption
There may be some noise during construction. Library staff will do their best to make quiet spaces available elsewhere in the building.
Signage will be in place in the library, foyer and outside the History Centre to guide you during this period.

Thanks for your patience while we improve the space.
