Date 28 April 2026 Category City news Topic Building, public health and planning Advertising extension of existing tree protections Council, at its 8 April 2026 Ordinary Council Meeting, resolved to adopt amendments to the following local planning policies for the purpose of advertising: Local Planning Policy 2.23: Register of Significant Trees and Vegetation Areas Local Planning Policy 2.26: Tree Retention Amendments to LPP 2.26 extend the current tree protections to include lots coded up to R40 within the City, as well as the addition of a list of undesirable tree species which would be exempt from requiring development approval to be removed.
