Sunday 25 October 2026 | St Patrick’s Basilica, Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach

Celebrate Fremantle’s rich maritime heritage and Italian culture with a day of tradition, food, music and family fun.

Join the Fremantle Fishing Fleet Festival Association for the annual Blessing of the Fleet, honouring the fishing families who have helped shape Fremantle and praying for a safe and successful fishing season.

The celebrations begin with Mass in Italian at St Patrick’s Basilica at 9.30am, followed by the traditional procession departing from the Basilica at 2pm and making its way to Fishing Boat Harbour.

Held alongside the celebrations, Little Italy by the Sea, presented by Nella Fitzgerald Events, brings Italian food, live music, cultural performances, cooking demonstrations and family entertainment to the waterfront. Enjoy colourful Venetian Carnivale characters and cheer on competitors in the annual rope coiling competition.

Finish the day by the harbour with the From the Sea to the Stars fireworks finale at 7pm.
