A flash fiction workshop presented by Totally Lit in association with Night Parrot Press and Fremantle Library.

Book here!

Join Laura Keenan, publisher of Night Parrot Press, for a 90-minute workshop that plays with point of view (POV) and looks at the importance of voice in flash fiction.

We’ll read examples of effective POV in flash and microfiction from local and international authors and write to prompts that encourage experimenting with different voices and POVs to strengthen the story you are telling.

No prior experience writing in the form is required—come ready for a relaxed, friendly and encouraging session.

Things to note:

  • The workshop is FREE but bookings are essential.
  • Stories produced in this workshop may also be considered for inclusion in Totally Lit’s Writ Large program – an opportunity to see your words projected onto the iconic Fremantle Ports Administration Building during Totally Lit 2026.
  • An additional workshop is also available with Gillian O’Shaughnessy. Details are available here.
