Coastal Charm
Buster is a program aimed at children 0 – 5 years old, and their parents/guardians. We encourage children and their parents/carers to play together and for parents/carers to model how to play and explore.
We aim to increase understanding of the importance of play in children’s development and learning by providing experiences that can be adapted for home. Play is a great way of learning many skills that children need to function. Every activity and toy at Buster is designed and programmed to develop skills in children’s development.
This includes:
Bringing your child to Buster is a great way to introduce educational play to your child in a safe and social environment. As well as incorporating the five areas of development, Buster also incorporates the childhood principles of Belong, Being and Become.
Belonging – the basis of a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of their relationships with family, friends and community. Buster helps to strengthen the relationship between children and their carers, as well as provide a space for children to develop friendships and a sense of community.
Being – living in the here and now. Buster provides a safe space for children and carers to play and enjoy themselves without stressors that may be present elsewhere.
Becoming – the learning and development that young children experience. Buster provides a space for learning, not just educationally but also in ways that help develop a child’s sense of self and identity.
Respect each other.
At all times, parents/carers are responsible for their own children – Buster staff are not here to supervise them for you.
Respect the toys and books supplied – please treat them as you would treat your own, and let staff know if any are in poor condition.
If your child puts a toy in their mouth, please let staff know so that they can clean it before the next session.
We provide hand sanitiser and sun screen for your use, please help yourself.
If you have any concerns or questions, please see Buster staff.
Buster is intended to be a relaxed, casual environment. While we appreciate registration, we also welcome walk-ins. You don’t need to do anything when you arrive – just find a spot and start playing! Staff are present to answer any questions and welcome feedback on Buster programs.
