Johannah St, North Fremantle, will be subject to a full road closure to enable essential drainage works to be carried out safely and efficiently.
Works are scheduled to commence on 27 May and are expected to be completed by 27 June.
The road closure will be in place Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm. After-hours and on weekends, the road will be re-opened.
Detours will be in place.
Wray Ave will be fully closed between Hampton Road and South Terrace to enable road resurfacing works to be carried out safely and efficiently. Detours will be in place, and traffic management will be on site to assist motorists and maintain access where possible. Traffic signage and diversion routes will be implemented throughout the works period.
Parry St will be closed to traffic between Beach Street and Queen Victoria Street to facilitate cabling works. The right turn from Cantonment Street onto Parry Street will also be closed during these times. Traffic management measures, including signage and detours, will be implemented to guide motorists.
Stack Street will be subject to a road closure at the intersection of Amherst Street to enable water main upgrade works to be carried out safely and efficiently. All other works along Amherst Street are expected to be completed within the verge area. Traffic management will be on site to assist motorists and maintain access where possible. Traffic signage and diversion routes will be implemented throughout the works period.
Pakenham Street will be fully closed between Phillimore Street and Leake Street to enable installation of a new fire service to be carried out safely and efficiently. Traffic controllers will be on site to assist motorists and maintain access where possible. Traffic signage and diversion routes will be implemented throughout the works period.
Carrington Street will be fully closed between Lefroy Road and South Street in both directions to enable works to be carried out safely and efficiently. Detours will be in place, and notifications will be distributed closer to the time to assist motorists and maintain access where possible. Traffic signage and diversion routes will be implemented throughout the works period.
South Street will be fully closed between South Terrace and Hampton Road to enable road resurfacing works to be carried out safely and efficiently. Detours will be in place, and traffic management will be on site to assist motorists and maintain access where possible. Traffic signage and diversion routes will be implemented throughout the works period.
The Swan River Crossings Project is one of the most complex and challenging projects undertaken by Main Roads WA, involving road, port, freight, river, walking, cycling, heritage and environmental considerations.
The Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close Sunday 1 February, 2026 to enable completion of major works, including removal of the existing bridge, installation of the new bridge deck and construction of the new road.
