Road closures

• Lewington St (between South St & Grosvenor St)
  Date: 9  – 10 March 2026 | Time: Closure in place 24/7
  A full road closure will be in place along Lewington St due to sewer installation works, with excavations remaining open overnight.
  Construction activities will occur during the day only, between 7am and 5pm. Access to Bruce Lee Reserve will be maintained at all entrances.
  Access to Lewington St will be available via South St. All residents and reserve users will be notified in advance.
  Traffic controllers will be onsite during the day to assist as required.The closure is scheduled from 7am Monday 9 March to 5pm Tuesday 10 March 2026. The road will reopen for the weekend.

• Wray Ave (between Solomon St & Hampton Rd)
  Date: 11 March 2026 | Time: Night closure 8:00pm – 5:00am
  Please be advised that a road closure will be in place along Wray Ave between Solomon St and Hampton Rd during the above dates for pavement reinstatement works.

  Traffic controllers will be onsite to assist as required. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance.

Major works

Swan River Crossing

The Swan River Crossings Project is one of the most complex and challenging projects undertaken by Main Roads WA, involving road, port, freight, river, walking, cycling, heritage and environmental considerations.

The Fremantle Traffic Bridge will close Sunday 1 February, 2026 to enable completion of major works, including removal of the existing bridge, installation of the new bridge deck and construction of the new road.
