The City’s Waste and Cleansing teams

Strive to keep Fremantle’s streets, verges, and public spaces clean and safe for everyone. Cleaning services include:

  • Street sweeping
  • Litter collection
  • Maintenance of high-traffic areas to ensure a welcoming environment across the City

Primarily service the City’s CBD and provides supplementary cleaning services, including rapid response to litter hotspots, and maintenance of high-visibility pedestrian zones.

Service the public litter bins across the City of Fremantle and manage some residential waste collections.

The Cleansing team are responsible for the scheduled cleaning of roads, footpaths, public spaces, and high-traffic urban areas, to uphold public amenity, hygiene, and safety.

In high-traffic areas such as the CBD, the team begins work earlier to ease congestion while maintaining service standards and ensuring public safety.

These activities are in line with the City’s Noise Management Plan for Waste and Cleansing Services.
