City of Fremantle
Coastal Charm
A Coastal Adaptation Plan has been prepared between the City of Fremantle and Town of Mosman Park to look at coastal risks and vulnerability. The coastline is vulnerable to coastal processes such as erosion and inundation and over time, the coast will become increasingly vulnerable to the impacts of sea level rise, storm surges and changes in sediment transport and natural sediment stores.
The plan has been prepared to adapt to the changing coast at Port, Leighton and Mosman Beaches, and provides recommended timeframes and trigger points for decision-making and planning for the area.
Greening the city and it’s neighbourhoods are an important element of climate mitigation, community wellbeing and biodiversity. The City’s greening plan is outlined in the comprehensive Urban Forest Plan document.
The City is endorsed as a Gold Waterwise Council, through the Water Corporation Waterwise council program.
