The City of Fremantle’s Buster program is turning 40, and families are invited to celebrate at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre on Wednesday 16 December. Designed for children aged 0–5 and their parents and carers, Buster brings families together to play, explore and learn in a relaxed, social environment. Through activities such as building blocks, imaginative play, books, music and puzzles, the program supports children’s physical, social, emotional and language development. It also gives parents and carers ideas for playful learning they can continue at home. At its heart, Buster is about connection—strengthening relationships between children and their carers, helping little ones develop friendships and bringing families together. The 40th birthday celebration will run from 9am to 12pm and coincide with Buster’s final session for the year. Families can enjoy face painting with Freedom Fairies, a magic show with Magic Dale and Nature Play with Cath, along with birthday cake, popcorn and fruit. Representatives from Ngala, Kidsafe and Better Beginnings will also join the festivities. Current and former Buster families, as well as those discovering the program for the first time, are welcome to come along and help celebrate this special milestone. No registration is required. Simply drop in during the morning and join the fun. Wednesday 16 December 2026 | 9am–12pm Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre
