Sporting Club Sponsorships provide local sport and recreation clubs access to one-off $500 sponsorships to support: club events, equipment or uniform purchases, promotion of the club or other club development initiatives.

Round 2: Will open in February 2027

Sponsorships up to $500 available

 

Eligibility

  • Be an incorporated not-for-profit sport and recreation club.
  • Be based or operating within the City of Fremantle and servicing a significant number of local residents.
  • Have no outstanding monies owing to the City.
  • Funding cannot be allocated to a specific individual and should benefit the wider Club or community.
  • Successful applicants will only be eligible to apply for the Sporting Club Sponsorship program once per financial year.

As part of accepting sponsorship funding from the City of Fremantle, clubs will be required to: acknowledge the City as a club supporter on communication channels, provide City logo exposure (where applicable), and provide some information/data via a City of Fremantle Sporting Club survey.

The application process

  1. Complete the Sporting Club Sponsorships Application Form online via the City’s Smarty Grants portal.
  2. Submit your application.

Once you have submitted your application you will receive an email acknowledging receipt. Please note that the City seeks to provide an outcome within six weeks of the funding round closure. Applicants will be notified of approved funding via email.

The Youth Athlete Scholarship supports talented young athletes from the City of Fremantle who have been selected, or are seeking selection, to compete at a national or international level. The program combines a financial contribution, in addition to access to training facilities, education, wellbeing resources and opportunities for peer connection.

 

Program Applications Support provided
Youth Athlete Scholarship Round 1: 15 August to 15 September 2026

Round 2: Will open in February 2027

Successful applicants will receive:

  • A $200 gift card
  • A 10-session youth or Teen Fit pass at Fremantle Leisure Centre
  • Access to a group nutrition education session
  • Opportunities for peer connection across sports

 

Eligibility

To apply for assistance under this program, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of the City of Fremantle.
  • Be under 19 years of age at time of application, or under 25 years of age and a full‑time student (with supporting documentation).
  • Have been selected or seeking selection to compete at a national or international level.
  • Provide evidence of completed or upcoming/intended selection process
  • Be able to participate in program components delivered locally.

Please note that applicants that have received City funding from the same program in the current financial year are not eligible to apply.

Successful applicants will be notified via email.

KidSport is a program administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries which makes it possible for eligible children to participate in community sport and recreation by offering up to $300 per calendar year towards club registration fees.

Eligible children must be:

  • Aged 5-18 years
  • Listed on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card.

The State government is providing financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure.
