October is Bike Month, and with the weather warming up, it’s a great time to jump on your bike and explore Fremantle.

Whether you’re riding to work, taking the kids to school or heading out for a weekend adventure, there are plenty of ways to enjoy our city on two wheels.

Explore Freo with the Scavenger Hunt

The Freo Scavenger Hunt is back!
Download the map, hop on your bike and explore at your own pace, with prizes up for grabs along the way.

Find adventure at Booyeembara Park

For those looking for a little more adventure, Booyeembara Park is home to WA’s first micro downhill mountain bike trails.
Try the two 400-metre downhill trails, designed for intermediate and experienced riders, or build your skills on the beginner-friendly pump track.
Make a day of it with a visit to the nature-themed playground or a barbecue in the park. Public toilets and free parking are available.

Ride2Work on 14 October

National Ride2Work Day is Wednesday 14 October. If you’ve been thinking about cycling to work, it’s a great opportunity to give it a go.
Not heading to work? Make your school run, coffee stop or local errand a bike ride instead.

Local spotlight: helping more people enjoy the ride

Cycling Without Age

Cycling Without Age is a not-for-profit charity helping people who can no longer ride for themselves stay connected with their community and the outdoors.
Volunteer cyclists pilot electric trishaws, giving passengers free rides and the chance to enjoy fresh air, conversation and a change of scenery.
Rides take place across Perth, including at South Beach on Mondays and Fridays from 9.30-11.30am. To book a ride, complete the ride booking form.

People on Bicycles

Local Walyalup crew People on Bicycles helps children and adults develop the skills and confidence to ride safely on real streets. From first pedals to getting around town, their training supports riding as an everyday way to travel around Fremantle, with a particular focus on helping children become confident, capable riders.

Repair Cafe, Fremantle

The community group gathering monthly on Sunday mornings at Sullivan Hall are all about preventing household items ending up in landfill.
Take your bike in for a free service or repair by the crew from BikeBudz. 
Volunteers have already repaired 25 bikes this year, preventing many of these ending up in landfill!
