Where to park

The City manages 27 car parks, most of which are conveniently located within the city centre and in close proximity of public transport.

Not all parking spaces in Fremantle are managed by the City. We don’t have any authority over the car parks managed by Wilson Parking or other private providers.

The City’s parking map is available in PDF format below.

Paying for parking

The easiest and most convenient way to pay for parking in City-owned carparks in Fremantle is via the EasyPark app.

EasyPark allows you to use your mobile phone to pay for the parking time that you actually use. It’s as easy as pressing ‘start’ when you arrive and ‘stop’ on the app when you leave.

The PayStay app is no longer active for Fremantle and cannot be used to pay for parking.

Conveniently start your parking while sitting in your car.

Our new parking meters use pay-by-plate technology and are paperless, so you will no longer need to display a parking ticket!

Our new easy-to-use parking meters have a number of benefits:

  • No need to walk back to your car to display ticket on dash – just tap’n’go!
  • Wayfinding function – find your way around the city, as well as information on landmarks and upcoming events
  • Large touch screen means better visibility
  • Goodbye wasted paper tickets and those annoying printing errors and hello to a greener, more sustainable way of parking

The new parking meters provide an easier and more reliable parking experience and compliments the City’s recent transition to the EasyPark app.

Our new parking meters utilise Pay-by-Plate technology and are ticketless, meaning you can use tap’n’go payments on your smart device and via credit or debit card.

Pay-by-Plate technology uses your vehicle’s licence plate number to record your parking time and payment, removing the need to display a paper ticket on your vehicle dash.

How to pay:

Enter your vehicle licence plate number: Begin by entering your vehicle’s licence plate number using the keypad on the meter’s screen.

Select Parking Duration: Next, select the amount of time you intend to park within the designated zone’s parking time limit. You can adjust the duration with the appropriate buttons on the screen.

Payment: Pay for your parking by either tapping your phone or using your credit or debit card. You can still choose to pay with cash at many locations. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the payment process.

Obtain Receipt: You can obtain an electronic (e-receipt) or paper receipt at the time of purchase.

Many of the parking meters will still accept cash. On-site signage will indicate locations that still offer this option.

You can view the parking fee schedule for 2024/25 below.
